Spring Foraging Walks
Saturday, April 24, 2021 ✿ 1pm & 2:30pm
with Melissa Sokulski of Food Under Foot
meet at Bandi Schaum Community Garden
Join Tree News and Pittsburgh herbalist and educator, Melissa Sokulski, for a springtime foraging walk to celebrate the release of Tree News’ first issue and the joys of spring. Melissa will introduce us to edible and medicinal plants all around us: growing in sidewalk cracks, along the river’s edge and alleyways, blossoming on public trees and sprouting in public parks.
Melissa Sokulski has been leading walks, workshops and educating people about wild and medicinal plants since 1992.
Due to COVID-19, space is limited. RSVP here. Masks and social distancing are required. Suggested donation sliding scale of $1-5. Note that we will be walking for about an hour in the Southside Slopes neighborhood and on trails in Southside Park.
